Kia ora, ko Kahurere tōku ingoa, a passionate kaitiaki at Te Pu-a Nga Maara, guided by the wisdom of our tūpuna and a deep love for our taiao.
Kāore te kūmara e kōrero mō tōna ake reka. The kūmara does not speak of its sweetness. This whakataukī reminds me to let my actions and mahi speak for themselves, staying humble while working for the greater good of our taiao and people.
Te nohopuku, te tirotiro, te wānanga—my ability to reflect quietly, observe deeply, and engage in thoughtful wānanga. These strengths allow me to connect with the Taiao and our kaupapa, ensuring our mahi is purposeful and grounded.
I dream of a Taiao that is restored, renewed, and replenished—a thriving natural world where the whenua, wai, and all living beings flourish in balance. My vision is to see nature’s mauri revitalised, guided by the wisdom of our ancestors and sustained for generations to come.
The kaupapa and aspirations of our work set my heart alight. I cherish how we weave mātauranga Māori into every aspect of our mahi, honouring the knowledge of our tūpuna while nurturing the Taiao. Contributing to a legacy that connects our past, present, and future is a privilege.
