Kia ora, ko Tangaroa tōku ingoa, a committed kaitiaki at Te Pu-a Nga Maara, is driven by a passion for our taiao and continuous growth.

Kaizen—the Japanese philosophy of “good change” or “continuous improvement.” This means always striving to do better for our whenua, people, and mahi. It’s about small, steady steps toward a stronger, healthier future for our taiao.

Hard mahi is my superpower. I pour my energy and dedication into every task, whether planting natives or restoring the mauri of our whenua, knowing that every effort counts toward our shared vision.

I dream of a New Zealand where native flora and fauna flourish across the motu. I aspire to see our Taiao restored with thriving ecosystems rich with the beauty and diversity of our indigenous species.

Being outside in the Taiao is where I feel most alive. The connection to the whenua, the fresh air, and the chance to work hands-on in nature fuel my spirit. Every moment spent in the Taiao reminds us why we do this mahi.
